This year, earlier than usual, the mammals appeared in Valdes Peninsula, anticipating the whale watching season, starting June 9.

Puerto Madryn has positioned as one the best destination for whale watching in the world. The coast city is located in the province of Chubut, in Patagonia, only 02 hours distance by flight from Buenos Aires and has been declared Natural Heritage Site by the Unesco.

Here, the waters are where many of the female’s whales come to give birth: a sheltered bay with transparent waters, without underwater currents, with little waves and depths ranging from 4 to 35 meters. In addition, the sea temperatures oscillate between 10 and 21 degrees, which allow the development of a great diversity of species.

From June to December, southern right whales can be seen within just feet of the shore, or even closer from the boat tours, where you will get the chance to see elephant seals and sea lions as well. The highest peak occurs from July to November, where over 700 whales are in the Patagonian coast.

Moreover, other underwater activities like diving or snorkeling with wolves are only some of the experiences available for the curious travellers, designed for all audiences since they can be done by people with no previous experience to expert divers.

La Mascota Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 of Mascota Vineyards received a distinction worldwide as the best red wine in the contest Vinalies 2018

Every year, the Union of Winemakers of France organize this competition, which brings together 130 wine experts and sommeliers to taste over 3.000 wine bottles from over 40 countries.

“La Mascota Cabernet Sauvignon 2016” comes from Maipú, in Mendoza and is produced by Rodolfo "Opi" Sadler.

The harvesting process is totally manual with a careful selection of bunches and grapes. The fermentation occurs for 25 days and then rests 15 months in French and American Oak before being bottled.

The result is an elegant wine with vanilla, cassis and raspberry jam notes and a touch of roasted pepper and chocolate in palate.
